New version of Databox

Hello, there has been an updated version of the Module:Databox code. Here is a summary of the changes:

• New parameter useImage:

change the image displayed in the databox.

• New parameter excludeProperties:

choose to hide properties from being displayed in the databox.

• Adds a Wikidata icon and link to the top of the connected Wikidata Item
• Rename property_blacklist to site_excluded_properties for more inclusive terminology.
• Adds dark mode support

More details about these changes can be found on the Wikidata documentation page.

We would like to update your Databox Module and Template pages to take advantage of these new features, we plan to implement this change by February 20, 2026. Please let us know if you do not want this change to go ahead.

Hello everyone, the Wikidata For Wikimedia Projects team worked on improving the Databox Template and Module earlier this year. We are now asking Wikimedians to answer a short survey about their experiences with Databox (a Wikidata-powered infobox for Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Projects), and would appreciate your input.
