Nederlands: Deze afbeelding betreft de eerste (bekende) gepubliceerde foto gemaakt op Aruba. Dr. Johan Hartog omschreef het als volgt:
"Fort Zoutman (1796) en de Toren Willem III (uit 1867) naar een foto uit 1885. Waar nu kantoren en huizen staan, strekte zich toen een kale rotsvlakte uit. Het oude huisje, nu de Agencia Maritima Mercantil van J.L. Hart, staat er nog." Bron bijschrift: Hartog, Aruba in oude ansichten (1996)Papiamentu: E potret aki ta e prome potret publica di Aruba. El a wordo saca na 1885 pa sr. J.R.H. (Jacobus Rudolphus Hendrik) Neervoort van de Poll (Entomologo na Leiden, Hulanda) cu a compaña e geologo prof. dr. Karl Martin riba su biahe pa Aruba, Corsow, Bonaire, Venezuela y Surnam. Na 1887 e potret a wordo publica den e buki Westindische Skizzen, Reise-Erinnerungen von K. Martin (Leiden : E.J. Brill, 1887).
