Organisashon Mundial di Salú a establesé dia 7 di aprel 1948, riba kual fecha ta konmemorá anualmente Dia Mundial di Salú.[3] Sede prinsipal di WHO ta na Ginebra, Suisa, ademas di su seis ofisina regional semi-outonomo i 150 ofisina lokal ront mundu. Na 2017 Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus a keda elegí komo sekretario-general di WHO.
