Bureaucratship

To answer your question to Steinbach (hope he doesn't mind): you could make a page for adminrequests (something like Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, but in Papiamentu of course) and put your request there. Make sure you mention that you are requesting for bureaucratship (a bureaucrat is the same as an administrator, with the extra feature that bureaucrats can make other people admins or bureaucrats locally, so they don't have to go to meta all the time). Then, on that page, say people can vote until x April. Some people will vote in favour (it doesn't really matter that there's only three or so people voting, they'll know at meta that this is a new wiki). After x April, put the request on meta and they'll make you bureaucrat.

Alternatively, you can request for temporary adminship (here) to delete pages and translate the interface. (The translation of the interface is a job that needs to be done anyway, sooner than later, and can only be done by admins. See Special:Allmessages for everything that needs to be translated.) There's no vote required for temp. adminship. After that, you can set up a vote for permanent admin/bureaucratship. Mtcv 18:37, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Arubaans, Bonairs, Curaçaos

Dat is nou al een tijdje een prangende vraag, geloof ik: wat doen we met het dialect van Aruba, dat een heel andere spelling heeft? Ik moet toch ronduit zeggen dat een aparte Wikipedia geen oplossing is: het is duidelijk dezelfde taal en men kan elkaar verstaan. Het lijkt mij het beste om een sjabloon (template) te maken dat aangeeft met welke variant je te maken hebt: ik dacht zelf bijvoorbeeld aan {{Papiamentu}}, {{Papiamen}} of {{Papiamento}} voor resp. Curaçaos, Bonairs en Arubaans. Een lezer kan dan meteen zien in welk dialect/welke schrijfwijze het artikel staat en daar eventueel bij het bewerken rekening mee houden. Op de Limburgse Wikipedia is de dialectvariatie nog veel groter (neem dat maar even van mij aan) maar daar valt ook mee te leven. Daar hebben we het li:Sjabloon:Dialek voor zulke gevallen. Página prinsipal, wordt "prinsipal" dan niet met een kleine letter geschreven?... vroeg me trouwens af of IP adrès in het Papiaments met of zonder verbindingsstreepje wordt geschreven. Servien 18:26, 31 yüli 2006 (UTC)

Ik volgde alleen de voorbeelden van andere wikipedia's. In de engelstalige en indonesische wikipedia's bijv. staan beide woorden met hoofdletters (Main Page, Halaman Utama). In de portugese wiki staat Página principal, dus ja.. het maakt eigenlijk niet uit hoe je 't schrijft, denk ik. Of IP adrès met of zonder verbindingsstreep wordt geschreven weet ik niet. Looking for original recent texts wirtten by papiamento native speakers I found the wikipedia page in papiamento and I think that I'll take some of the articles for my analysis! Could I contact you when I've got any further questions? Do you know more papiamento speaking students at your university in the Netherlands? Betawiki

Hi, as Gangleri already mentioned, there is a special wiki called Betawiki where you can translate the interface. But meanwhile there are a lot of things changed on that site.

So I would like to invite you to come to Betawiki for your further translations. I already imported the translations you made here, so you don't need to do this work twice. Why Betawiki? If you translate here, you can use it only here. If you translate on Betawiki, you can use your translations on every MediaWiki wiki, including all Wikimedia wikis. You can even translate the namespaces (User, Help_talk, Image, ...) and the special page names (Recentchanges, Allpages, Random, ...) on betawiki:Special:Magic.

Hi! I'm a Hungarian Wikipedia editor, my name is Norbert Kiss. I'm very proud of my village and I would like to read about it in a lot of langauges. I translated already it into 10 languages (now it is in 28 languages), but I can't speak Papiamentu. Could you help me? My village's English page is this: Ecser. connectivity project

Hallo, my name is Anastasiya Lvova, I'm "duty" in Connectivity project. The essence of the "Connectivity" project is to study and enhance the coherence of Wikipedia, or, in other words, to improve hypertext navigation between articles. The project deals with deadends, isolated articles, non-categorized articles, transitivity of the category tree, etc.

We want to work with your language version, but we need configured MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage for it (with direct links to template namespace pages, for example, ru:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage/de:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage/fr:MediaWiki:Disambiguationspage). Is it possible to set it up for our usage?

Hello Delaraha,

I'm a Dutch Wikipedian in Residence for Unesco and will soon do a Wikipedia-training for Wikipedia-trainers from the ABC-Islands. Unesco's main goal is to expand the information on the Dutch Wikipedia about the islands of Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao on the Dutch Wikipedia and especially about the colonial history of the island. The new contributors might find it fun to edit the Papiamento Wikipedia as well!

I would like to talk to you about the Papiamento Wikipedia, so that I can explain it correctly: there might be some differences between the Dutch language Wikipedia and the Papiamento one, though your Wikipedia does not seem very busy at the moment.

Do you have the time to do a Skype conversation with me?
